The ZOLA inventory storage, transportation, handling and battery disposal guidelines documentation presents global best practice inventory storage and management. The document provides different and practicable guidelines in ensuring safety, proper inventory transportation and inventory are well preserved for purpose within contracted durations leading to continuous contractual product warranties.
Regulatory Information on Lithium Battery Transportation
In the case of transportation, avoid exposure to high temperature and prevent the formation of any condensation. Ensure all boxes are positioned upright: no falling, dropping and breakage. Always prevent collapse of cargo piles and keep all away from wet by rain or other means. Do not give shocks that result in a mark or indentation on the pack. Do not transport in the same compartment with inflammable materials.
The Flex system should always be placed in its original packaging away from exposure to sunlight or any other heat generating systems. It should be stored in a well ventilated, dry place away from water ingress and away from inflammable materials. Storage areas should be equipped with appropriate grade operational fire extinguishers. After charging, the system should be put back in ship mode to preserve the battery and subjected to health check every six months at room temperature.
Charging of the FLEX box
Follow the product manual for full instructions
Advised storage is at room temperature (20-25 oC).
All INFINITY IPS SKUs (IP4, IX2 and IX4) must be stored in a well ventilated warehouse away from exposure to sunlight and other heat generating systems. The storage area must be free from dust and without chances of water ingress. Storage areas should be equipped with appropriate grade operational fire extinguishers. When charging the batteries in accordance with shelf life warranty, the batteries must be charged in a dry and less humid area with adequate cross ventilation at room temperature. The ideal battery voltage per box is 33VDC. The batteries can be charged to 95% SOC and stored in ship mode. Where the batteries are to be transported via air freight or by ship, acceptable state-of-charge (SOC) is 30%. INFINITY IPS stored at 95% SOC should be subjected to health check every six months. Advised storage should be at room temperature (20-25 oC). Where the INFINITY IPS is measured to have below 25VDC (20-24VDC). Such a box is boosted to 25VDC using a DC charger with constant amperage of 0.1A. The charge current is then optimized to above 1.0A (1.0- 1.3A) to charge the battery to 30VDC. At 31VDC, charging via INFINITY String set up via grid or solar to full charge voltage of 33VDC and SOC of 100% can be achieved. It Should be noted that all airfreight INFINITY IPS boxes deployed for POC projects must be installed within 4 weeks from the date of shipment from the source country. KORAD AC-DC Charger; KORAD 6005D 60V/5A
The INFINITY Interface Box (IIB) must be stored in the original packaging material. The IIB must be stored in a dry area with no chance of water ingress and rodent attacks which may severe cable terminations
The sub panel like the IIB must be stored in a dry area away from water ingress and rodents attack. Should always be in its original packaging
The solar PV panels must be well stacked and secured to prevent fall-off and cracks. During deployment, each panel should be carried by two people to prevent strain on the PV module. The PV should be handled from the frame always.
The proprietary inverters are to be stored in room temperature in clean dry areas away from exposure to moist and water ingress. They are best stored in the boxes they are supplied in.
When not in use the Q-cables should be retained in the packaging away from exposure to water, rodent attack and damp. Should be stored in well ventilated area.
Consumables such as electrical cables, junction box, terminal blocks etc. should be kept away from exposure to water ingress or damp. And in most cases away from rodents attack.
The Aluminium rails are to be stored in horizontal positions on racks. Should not be exposed to loads or weight that may cause indentations.
